Postmodern Jukebox
Ragtime, jazz and swing
With 2.8 million subscribers, Postmodern Jukebox is not an unpopular and obscure YouTube channel, but it definitely deserves a larger spotlight.
Postmodern Jukebox is a unique account that takes current, modern songs and “jazzifies” them. Ordinary pop songs become vintage blues hits. PMJ provides a refreshing twist on pop songs, keeping the lyrics and melody, but changing the tempo and adding jazz instruments like saxophone, trombone, trumpet, piano and bass to give it a new flare. These changes transform the tone and spirit of familiar pop songs from repetitive and dull to special melodies.
Postmodern Jukebox was created in 2011 by arranger and pianist Scott Bradlee. Since then, PMJ has grown to feature 70 different performers and tour four different continents.
Even if jazz is not your favorite music genre, I still recommend for you to check out Postmodern Jukebox here: https://www.youtube.com/user/ScottBradleeLovesYa
