On May 12th, 2017, former member of One Direction, Harry Styles, released his first studio solo album. With 10 songs on this album, it caught old One Direction and the rest of the world by surprise.

When One Direction announced their “break” over a year ago, many feared that they would never hear music from their favorite band members again. But matter of fact, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan have released their own songs and Liam Payne has talked about being in the studio working on something new. But for the longest time, the only thing known about Harry Styles was that he was acting in an up and coming movie called “Dunkirk”.

Then out of nowhere, Harry released his own single called “Sign of The Times” that many rushed and listen to. Very shortly after that he announced the release date for his own self titled album that has now recently been released.

Upon listening to Harry’s new album, it is a really unexpected sound. Unlike One Direction’s pop sound, Harry’s new album is a mix of folk and rock and roll, if that’s even possible. If that genre didn’t exist before it certainly does now.

All in all, Harry’s sound is fresh and new. It’s a perfect way for Harry to make his comeback.
