American Horror Story: Roanoke

American Horror Story returns for a promising sixth season

American Horror Story is a beloved series that has gained fame ever since its season one debut in 2011. The show is widely popular among teenagers and young adults for its gruesome plot twists and shock value.

After the end of its fifth successful season in January, that resulted in Lady Gaga winning her first golden globe, it was eight months before the internet went into an uproar as advertisements started rolling out for a promising season six.

Recently on September 14th, the premiere aired and thousands watched as the show opened with the words that promised a great season to come, ‘based on a true story’.

The episode itself strays from its usual format, acting as a paranormal documentary. The rest of the show acts as dramatizations of the experience.

Sarah Paulson has returned from the previous season to play Shelby Miller, a married woman who has just bought an old farm house with her husband, played by newcomer Cuba Gooding Jr. With her husband often gone, Shelby is left to experience the bizarre occurrences that happen as soon as they move in. American Horror Story: Roanoke will also follow in footsteps of the previous seasons and appear on Netflix on an undefined date.

Here is to another season of scares and horror, and hopefully many more to come.
