Fat/Sad Tuesday
February 16, 2016
Every year, on the Tuesday before Lent and Mardi Gra, the world kicks off the Easter season with some indulgent.
For those who don’t know, for the 40 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday, Christians give up one thing for the time called Lent to represent the 40 days Jesus spent in the desert before he was crucified. The day before this time begins, Christians have a day of indulgent called Fat Tuesday.
All of Fat Tuesday, they enjoy whatever they may be giving up from drinking to chocolate as a way to improve themselves. It is often seen as a time to break long standing addictions. Some of the most popular things that are given up by people for Lent consist of:
- Some type of food
- Swearing/Mean attitude
- Sexual Activity
- Phone or Selfies
- Sleeping in
- Complaining
- Shopping
So, in this time try to improve yourself more and give up something. You may be surprised how long you can go without it.
